How many times have I been at the Teatro Central in Seville? Najwa Nimri, Daddy G (Massive Attack) and some modern dance when the Expo 92. Yesterday I returned to enjoy the staging of young people who have been at least a year in the Centro Andaluz de Danza (CAD) in Seville ( The Master Academic Studies last two years) a project of the Ministry of Culture (Junta de Andalucía) created 20 years ago and dedicated to dance training: contemporary, neoclassical and Traditional Spanish. Prestigious teacher of all trends and disciplines add their cache so that young people, who spend hours of training and discipline, fulfill their dream: to dance in a company, to teach or to create choreographies. Watching them dance I realize how much they have worked the technique, emotions, the physical and the psychic to be on a stage of the category of the Teatro Central that calls for applause, honor and glory. And the public certainly did not disappoint them. Waves of applause and cheers flooded a room full of almost 500 seats that brimmed with admiration. Relatives, friends, old and future students, talent scouts? Well, I hope so. And maybe they had find there the next National Dance Award as Ruben del Olmo was, who currently works as a teacher and choreographer at the CAD. Rocío Coral (daughter of the famous Matilde Coral, the flamenco dancer) is also part of the cast of prestigious CAD professors like Raúl Heras, choreographer and dancer of international renown, just to name a few.

The show was divided into two parts

The first one with the pieces 'Kosmos' and 'Lights and Shadows' by Neoclassical and Contemporary students. The second was a tribute to dance figures who have contributed much to the art and projected its legacy in the world, like Matilde Coral that was in the Teather. A lesson of mastery and good to do will be repeated next Friday June 16 at 20.30 hrs at the Teatro Pedro Muñoz Seca, Puerto de Santa Maria, Cadiz. You can still buy your ticket here:
